On July 9 – 14, 2016 at the Georgia World Congress Center, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated brought over 25,000 members and their families to Atlanta for Boule, their National Convention. The last time the Boule was in Atlanta was in 1980. Atlanta was chosen for its rich civil rights roots and historical significance to the sorority.

Brothers from NYA attended Boule to support the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc of the Atlanta area. Upon the Brothers arrival to the city, they were greeted by several Brothers from the surrounding Atlanta,The brothers attended the fundraising and celebrity events for the Boule sponsored by the Brothers of Stone Mountain and Alpharetta-Smyrna Alumni Chapters. The events are the Kappa Tea Party and Summer Sixteen Day party.

The Kappa Tea Party was held at the Opera Patio and Garden. It was sponsored by Jameson and Seagrams gin. The outdoor patio and unique mixology creations made the event a one of a kind experience. New York Alumni had an opportunity to fellowship with brothers from Stone Mountain, Carrollton-Douglasville and Omicron Gamma chapter

The Summer Sixteen Day Party Party was held at the Gather Spot event space. Several AKA chapters were in attendance including familiar faces from New York’s own TO, PKO, DRO, HOO and TO chapters. The Brothers from Nu Psi and Brothers that held leadership rolls were also in the building. Sean Carswell
